My Client’s Pain Point:

The client requires a modern, wooden chair and table design that incorporates an African aesthetic.

Design Concept:

The inspiration for the design comes from ancient, decorated African pots. These pots were not only functional for carrying and storing water and food, but they also held great significance as they were used to store jewelry and other valuables. This cultural heritage symbolizes value and beauty, and I aim to capture that essence in the design. The back support of the chair and the table base draw from the shapes and patterns of these ancient pots, creating a strong connection to African tradition while blending with a modern, functional style.

Material Selection:

The primary material chosen is wood due to its strength, durability, and natural appeal. The wood is carefully selected to emphasize the warmth and organic feel of the design, while ensuring the chair and table are long-lasting and suitable for modern use.
